HMS 1 and HMS 2 (80/20 Blend)
Heavy Melting Steel (HMS) is a key material used in steel production.
- HMS 1: High-grade scrap, free of galvanized/blackened steel, minimum thickness 1/4 inch (6.3 mm)
- HMS 2: Includes galvanized and thinner material, minimum thickness 1/8 inch (3.2 mm)
- Blend (80/20): A mix of 80% HMS 1 and 20% HMS 2, as per ISRI specifications
- Impurities: Less than 1%, ensuring top-grade recyclability
Applications:
Steel manufacturing, construction, foundry operations, machinery production, automotive components, infrastructure development, shipbuilding, recycling processes, and creative industrial use (e.g. sculpture/art).
